DIY Wildfox Couture Sequin Heart Sweater!

It's no secret that many of us out there LOVE Wildfox Couture; but most of us aren't so in love with their prices. If you can't flock down to sunny Los Angeles for one of their cut-throat sample sales, a DIY version of their pieces may be the next best thing. Plus it's always better to customize things ourselves right? ;) So without further ado here is my DIY version of Wildfox Couture's iconic sequin heart jumper.

Supplies

  • Thin V neck sweater
  • Spool of sequins
  • Fabric glue
  • Construction paper (optional)
  • Needle & thread (optional)

Step 1: Trace a large heart onto your sweater. Making a stencil out of construction paper can make this process easier & more precise.

Step 2: Working in small sections, apply a thin layer of fabric glue & let it cure for 5-7 minutes. (Hint: place cardboard covered in plastic wrap in the middle of the sweater to prevent glue from touching the back layer.)

Step 3: Once you have allowed the glue to get tacky, place a strip of sequins over it & gently press.

Step 4: Repeat this process until the heart is completely filled in. Allow to dry for 24 hours.

Step 5 (Optional): Using a needle & thread (in a corresponding color) stitch down a FEW areas to make your creation more secure.

And you're done!
